USEFUL INFORMATION

Q) How much will the postage be for posting out my completed invitations to my guest's?

A) Postal costs are now based not only on weight but thickness of an envelope and the overall size.  It is always advisable to check with the Post Office before sending your invitations to ensure you have the correct postage.

Q) I would like to order my Wedding Stationery now, so I know it has been organised even though I don't require my order for some time.  What do I need to do as I don't want pay in full this far in advance?

A) Many of our customers like peace of mind that their wedding stationery has been organised in advance, as it's another job that can be crossed off the list!  We provide our customers with the option of ordering securely online with full payment by debit or credit card, which is required at the time of placing their order.  Alternatively you can download our Order Form for completion and post back to Wicked Weddingz with a cheque for 50% of the total value of your order, with the balance payable prior to delivery.  (see full details in the Handmade Wedding Stationery Section under Ordering Information).   

Q) Do you provide samples, as I would like to see a sample before I place my order? 

A) Yes, samples are charged at the individual price per item.  Please order online and enter the quantity as 1.  If you subsequently place an order we will deduct the cost of the item from your order total.

Q) How do I make payment for my wedding stationery?

A) You can pay using either of the following methods:

  • By debit or credit card over the phone by calling 0121 250 4486
  • By debit or credit card online, full payment will be required at the time of ordering.  We accept most major debit and credit cards.
  • Express Checkout with Paypal
  • Bacs transfer (please contact us for bank details)
  • By cheque made payable to "Wicked Weddingz".  Either download our Order Form complete and return with your cheque for 50% of the total value of your order or place your order as normal online.  When you complete the billing details and how did you find out about us page, you will then reach the payment options available, choose the "Pay by cheque" option.  A deposit of 50% of the total value of your order will be required to secure your order, with the balance payable prior to delivery.  Address details of where to send your cheque to will be displayed.  No items will be dispatched until your cheque has been received and funds are cleared.  This option is ideal if you wish to order your stationery in advance to secure your booking.

Q) I have seen a design I really like, but I would like it to match my colour scheme, are you able to do this and is there an additional cost?

A) As all of our designs are handmade, we are always happy where possible to colour co-ordinate with your chosen colour scheme we do not charge extra for this.

Q) When should I send my invitations?

A) Ideally 2-3 months before your wedding, however if your wedding is during the summer or a main holiday, it is advisable to give as much notice as possible to family and close friends.

Q) How long will it take Wicked Weddingz to create my order?

A) We advise our customers to allow approx. 4 weeks for delivery of their wedding stationery from the time they place their order, this is to allow us enough time during exceptionally busy periods.

Q) I need my wedding invitations urgently, are you able to create them quickly?

A) Where possible we will always try to meet with your timescales, please contact us prior to placing your order if you have an urgent requirement and we will advise you of timescales. 

Q) Should I include reply cards with my invitations?

A) It is a good idea to include reply cards with stamp addressed envelopes, as your guests are more likely to respond quickly if you have made it simple for them to do so.  It is always advisable to print an RSVP inside your invitations with a contact name, address and telephone number even if you include a reply card.   

Q) Should I include a map with my invitations?

A) It is always advisable to include a map when sending invitations for those who are not familiar with the area.

Q) Should I include details of local Hotels with my invitations?

A) Providing your guests with useful information about local hotels will always be welcomed by your guests, especially if they are planning to stay overnight and they are unfamiliar with the area.

Q) Should I include a gift list with my invitations?

A) It is not usually advisable to include your gift list with your invitations, otherwise the impression may be given that a gift must be brought in order to attend the wedding, however the decision whether or not to include a gift list is down to the bride and groom.  The gift list should normally only be sent when specifically requested.

Q) Should I request details about dietary requirements with my invitations?

A) Dietary requirements are normally included on Reply Cards, where guests can include whether there are any vegetarian meals required. 

Q) I have ordered/received my stationery but now need a few more items, can you provide these additional items quickly?

A) Yes, as long as the proofs for these additional items are the same, we can create them quickly for you.  Most couples find that they require extra invites etc. as some guest's may be unable to attend, so additional invites are often sent out to fill the places.

Q) I would like to order all of my stationery in advance, but I am unsure of the exact numbers.  What happens if I under order or over order?

A) Most couples estimate numbers when they first start planning their wedding and find further down the line they require additional items, these can be easily ordered online.  If you order and pay for your stationery in advance and find you have over ordered, as long as we have not started work on your order we will happily refund or deduct any over payment from the outstanding balance. 

Q) Do you sell wedding favours to match your wedding stationery designs?

A) Yes we can create wedding favours that co-ordinate with your chosen design, please contact us for details.


WHAT IS A WEDDING FAVOUR?

Wedding Favours are small gifts, which are given by the bride and groom at their wedding reception to their guests as a gesture of appreciation.  The tradition of giving wedding favours began many years ago.  History tells us that the first wedding favours were known as bonbonniere.  A bonbonniere is a small trinket box made of crystal, porcelain and/or precious stones.  They would be filled with sugar cubes or confectionery, which was a symbol of wealth and royalty.  During this era sugar was a very expensive commodity and was believed to have medical benefits, so the tradition of giving bonboniere was common only amongst the wealthy. 

Over time sugar became much cheaper and bonbonieres were replaced with almonds.  In the thirteenth century almonds coated with sugar were introduced, which were known as confetti.  These transformed to sugared almonds and evolved into the wedding favour as we know it today.  It is traditional to give five almonds presented in either a box or wrapped in fabric, which represent fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness.  The bitterness of the almond and the sweetness of the candy coating represent the bitter sweetness of marriage.

Wedding favours today are shared by all cultures worldwide and are diverse, ranging from traditional sugared almonds in nets or boxes to metal and wax items that are often personalised with the bride and groom's names and date of wedding.
